Subject: Westy Windsheild Leak--
Content-Type: Text/Plain; Charset=US-ASCII

Here is the last word on stopping a windsheild, or any window leak--if in fact you feel it's coming from between the rubber and the body----

Make a stop at Ace is the Place, and get yourself a caulking tube of 30, or 50 year black silicone-----

Now this is going to, be the tricky part, and only because your going to attempt to do this as the window is in----it will take two guys to do it right---

One pulls out on the moulding with a cotter pin puller or other hooked tool, and the other lays a bead of silicone as the puller progresses down the moulding---

It is much easier to lay a bead inside the groove of the moulding when the window is out---but this will work fine.

Ok---your done with the bead of silicone inside the lip of the moulding----

Take a rag saturated with mineral spirits, and with you index finger, smooth out the bead of silicone to the moulding----don't be too sloopy here, make it unifom all the way around the body to rubber line----

Your done, and the window rubber will never again leak, and the silicone will almost be totally invisable----and good for at least 30 year's--

Every Mack truck I paint, I do this to,----I have never had any rust around the rubber mouldings, or leaks from the windsheild's or rear window's-----ever.

Later,
