In theory, The MT-90 is used for Hypoid style diferentials (axles at 90degrees from trans input shaft) and the MTL is for Jetta style tranny's with axles and input/crank all turning the same way...maybe not the best description, but I hope you get the idea. Use MT90 for the vanagon Daryl of AA Transaxle Duvall, WA. Theres lots of debate in the archives over Redline MTL (75w80) vs. MT-90 (75w90) in the Vanagon, but nothing that has really helped me decide between the two. I live in Vancouver, BC where winter lows are around 32F and summer highs are rarely exceed 80F. I'm having some trouble shifting into 2nd when the trans in cold, so I thought I would try some Redline. Any suggestions on what would work best for me??? Thanks, ~Eric~ |
