If anyone is interested, there's a red 1983 Transporter panelvan for
sale in Belgium. Saw the ad in the FebVolksWorld magazine. Looks tidy
enough in the small photo. It is LHD. It has a 231hp 3.2 911 engine
and 5-speed G50 trans. Rust in doors. Price 3900 Englisch pounds.

I phoned to find out how the trans was fitted. The fellow did the
conversion himself, with help from friends. No off-the-shelf
RangePanzeror Claer kit here!
