I've just got to chime in about that rear wiper here... I burned out my motor the same way - the rear wiper was frozen to the rear window, and I inadvertently turned it on. After a few days I noticed this odd clicking sound coming from the dash every few seconds... oops! Anyhow, I think ultimate the fix for the rear wiper would be to have the switch only operate the wiper once, like the way the washer works, rather than click on/click off like the high-beams. Could this be implemented by doing something as simple as replacing a relay I wonder?

_________________________________________ We had a freak snow here, and it was the major wet heavy stuff.

I didn't properly clean my back window before driving off. Turns out the wiper couldn't handle it.

A few minutes after driving, I had the unmistakable smell of electrical stuff burning.

I pulled over and (fortunately I don't have the hatch interior panel in right now...) and that motor was HOT.

I cleaned off the snow and the motor still works.

Shouldn't a fuse have blown?

Any idea how to get the smell out of my van? The window has been open for two days...

Thanks, ...Markus
