Tracy,

That is an excelent book, full of illustrations and explanations on the basic workings of your VW. Even though it is based on the air-cooled engine, I think the explanations by John Muir are very useful if you want to know the basics of your motor and your tranny, for example.

If you are an expert mechanic, then perhaps you won't find much use to it. But if you are just an amateur who loves vanagon and VW in general, then perhaps you will have a very good source of information in this book.

Hope this helps.

Hi, I was wondering has anyone read the book How To Keep Your VW Alive aka The Idoits Guide. I was going to pick it up at the bookstore the other day, and saw that it said for aircooled on it. I have a h2o cooled, and wasn't sure if it would be worth buying it. I'm sure that the knowledge is always good to have. Let me know. Thanx, Tracy 85' GL Ripple
