Jon, keep in mind that the people at Parts Place are well-known crooks. They rip people off, they sell used parts as new, and they don't take returns easily, and that's just the things they've done to me.

Do a search on the archives of any of the lists you are on and you'll find that these scuzzballs have a terrible reputation among VW parts vendors.

Also, since you have the catalog, take a look at the part that explains that their definition of "New" doesn't mean not used, or just shipped from the manufacturer. It really means whatever they want it to mean. I wouldn't be surprised if these "new" engines were really used. I've gotten "New" parts from these guys that still had engine bay dirt and grease on them!

Caveat Emptor!!!!!
