Subject: Filling spare tire rim with stuff / reduce cooling efficiency?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

Hi everyone,

On my 2.1L 1991 Carat w/ AT & AC I would like to fill the spare tire with stuff (coils of different size hoses for emergencies). I would like to seal it all in a couple of plastic bags then put it inside the rim and then put a large plastic tire bag around the tire.

When I look up in there I see the fan and rather massive motor and I wonder if the rim needs to be empty for proper air flow.

It seems that wrapping the tire in plastic would plug up this space and reduce cooling efficiency.

The last thing I want is to do anything that interferes with proper cooling.

It runs cool as a cucumber right now.

Please respond with any thoughts, ideas or experiences.

Thanks in advance,

Steve Johnson ' 91 Carat

P.S. The spare is a 205/14
