Hi all, just finished the third day of work. So far, we've: 1. Pulled the diesel and removed the flywheel, clutch, oil pan, oil pump pickup, and exhaust manifold. 2. Pulled the engine from the donor 1986 Golf (that was a little hard). Also grabbed about half of the hiring harness (more to get tomorrow) and the fuel filter, accumulator, and pump assembly. 3. Transferred the diesel parts and a new pilot bearing to the donor engine. 4. Took a little off of the diesel tranny input shaft with my dremel - hopefully enough. Tomorrow we'll stick it in, hook up the fuel lines, and start figuring out the CIS fuel injection. So far, so good... best, Matt |
