>i bought a new propane tank to install on my 85 westy. how difficult an >install is this? should i have the local rv place do it? any suggestions if >i want to do it myself would be greatly appreciated. Here's what I had to do (using the tank from Bus Depot on an '84): 1) Unscrew regulator 2) Remove 4 nuts and drop the old tank 3) Attempt to put new tank in place 4) Grind away a little bit of the mounting bracket on the tank 5) Put tank in place and install 4 nuts 6) Screw regulator back in 7) Have tank filled 8) Use soapy water to check for leaks My tank had been moved to the passenger side of the van, so step 4 might not be necessary on a normal westy.
