>The latest edition does have a little bit of Vanagon info, but its mostly wrong! Did you know that the Vanagon uses the Rabbit engine and transmission? (Ok, I guess for the diesel its half right) Bill
My pair of '89 automatics use a rabbit type transmission albeit not the same differential. I also parted an '84 automatic which uses a rabbit type auto transmission. I believe the 1.6 diesel engines used in Rabbits and Vanagons are similar as well. The Muir book is great for general and detailed understanding and comprehension of air-cooled VW's and a good read for those who enjoy the VW lifestyle of tinkering. It does not cover detailed info on '83 and later Vanagons nor does it advertise as such. JB |
