Hi All - I've been working on the water sensor in my 85 Westfalia, and I'm still not able to figure it out. Basically, the LED lights don't work and tell me how much water is in my tank. I think I've eliminated the LED panel from being my problem, and I've opened up the compartment to check all the connections, and none of them look corroded or anything. However, it looks like it might be wired wrong. I've attached a picture of what's going on, but I've never posted a picture to the list before and don't know if it will go through, so I'll try to explain here too. What I have is the green wire going from the sensor, to the tank, to the LED panel. This is at the top bolt in the tank. The next bolt down is empty (very strange). The next bolt down has a white wire connected to it which connects to the sensor. The next bolt down has the yellow, which also connects to the sensor. The sensor has a black wire coming from it that doesn't look like it connects to anything, but it's heat-shrunk into the wires, as if this is done on purpose. And last but certainly not least, there is another wire, near where the LED wires come in that looks like it should connect to something but doesn't. All of this is detailed in the picture. If anyone can recommend a next step for me, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks. -eric PS - Sorry if pictures to the list are inappropriate. If so, just let me know and I won't send them again. |
