I read through the archives for about a half hour last week... and found the
greatest posting, by Ken, that saved my ass.
Spark Plug wire order:
Start by looking at your distributor cap, and imagining all the wires going
to the cooresponding plugs, that is, drivers side upper left, goes to
drivers side upper left..... drivers side lower left, goes to drivers side
lower left.... passenger side upper right, goes to passenger side upper
right, and passenger side lower right goes to passenger side lower right....
Now the important part... the passenger side (right hand side when standing
at the rear of the van, looking at the engine) wires get switched.
So you have the correct firing order... let the left side point to the
cooresponding plugs, and the right gets crossed over.
I had the passenger side wrong, before I read Ken's posing, and had really
horrible low idle, and my Cat glowed red hot, and I almost burned up my
wiring harnesses at the tail lights... is was rather ugly. I hope it did
not do any permanent damage.
Good luck and praise the list!
