I noticed some fluid on my floormat beneath the pedal assembly the other day. Lo and behold, about five minutes into my trip to a neighboring town, the clutch pedal was on the floor and I was no longer able to shift. Niiiice. I got a quick lesson in double-clutching and managed to limp it home with no ill effects (I hope) on the driveline. So I guess these things have hydraulic clutches, huh? Anyway, I'm going to order a new master cylinder from the Bus Depot this morning. I looked up the procedure in the Bentley manual, but it doesn't seem very detailed. Is there a trick to installing the master cylinder? I assume it needs to be bench-bled, but are there other special steps I should take? TIA- JJ '81 Vanagon 2.0 '01 Jetta VR6 '87 Scirocco 16V
