I just got my instrument cluster back from Speedometer Service and Instrument Co. in Portland, Or. Had an non-functioning odometer. They fixed that, did a tear-down, also made it much quieter, for $75.00. Did that in two days. They will accept mailed-in work. Number is (503) 227-5567.

I must say that that blue flex-circuit scares me. I took the whole cluster down because I couldn't figure how to disconnect just the odometer from the flex. Looks like it is stapled on. Are we supposed to be able to disconnect it?

Also more PO'd at the P.O. Screws that hold the odo to the cluster housing were over-tightened to the point they broke off large pieces in the cluster housing. Please don't let your kids work on your vanagons!
