You'll have to find a high-impedance one or it will drag down the signal
from the sensor.  You want 10 megohms input impedance -- 1 megohm might be
ok but is certainly not good.

This is not necessarily a problem.  If it reads zero (or close to it) with
the leads touching each other that is ok.
