William. How many sets of piston rings have you ever seen ? Did you know that there are about thirty different designs for compression rings, oil scraper rings, #2 compression ring? Only about three are designed for racing and the others are designed for applications considered standard. VW has three rings but other vehicles and industrial engines can have four or even more in some cases. If you believe that you can break in a Waser Boxer on Synthetic I'd welcome your reports for the first two years while you're hoping to develop good compression.
