First off, let me apologize if some of you thought that questioning Bus Depot's customer service was out of line. I considered that possibility before I posted originally, but ultimately decided my concerns were valid enough to warrant opinion from the list as a whole. I know many of you buy from BD, and that Ron is a regular on the list, so I wanted to have enough information to guide my decision the next time I need parts. Yes, I understand that (like Ben said), bad publicity can be especially damaging to small businesses. But on the flip side, I figured that if my experience was unique, I'd get flamed for suggesting that BD had customer service issues. And that's fine. I currently own three VWs of varying vintages, and have owned several others in the past, so I have a good working knowledge of various parts sources across the country. As I said in my original post, I wanted to give BD a try because they had the best price on what I needed, and because I know Ron is a list member. I don't like to order on line, because I like to hear a voice on the other end, and because I know FOR SURE someone has received my order right then. That's just the way I like to do things, and there are several places I frequent because they do that well. I'm sorry I got a bad first impression of BD, but I'm glad that several of you guys came to his defense. It's the stuff I wanted to know, and it's WHY I POSTED TO THE LIST in the first place! If there's some sort of protocol about what (Vanagon-related) topics may and may not be discussed, I can do nothing but plead ignorance. Thanks for your time-
