Well, Terry and all, my experience is this.

Customer service is top priority and those good at it earn my business.

Many people are too lazy, or just plain uninformed to shop around properly. I sometimes get the best deal from the VW dealer. I always get good deals from Peter at www.volkscafe.com who will match anyone's price. And always excellent customer service at volks cafe for me so far.

Also thanks to a few new friends on this list I have found local discount parts dealers, junk yards for parts and alternate mechanics for very good prices.

A WORD TO THE WISE. Shop around everywhere and figure into the equation the cost of your gasoline to go get the parts or the shipping cost. And even your time or the lost knuckles you lose doing your own labor.
