The only other source that I know of is either new from the VW dealer (scary
at $2053 list!) or German Transaxle in Bend Oregon.  I think German
Transaxle rebuilds them <insert long, yet easily deletable rant about how
this is not a good idea with many technical words, etc., etc., etc. here>.
I would say that if German Transaxle is offering these with a warranty then
they should be good if you can't get a new one.  I have had good experiences
with these guys in the past, really helpful and seem to produce quality

After checking with Bus Depot and Derek Drew it turns out nobody has a
brandnew VC in store. Does anybody know of any other suppliers? I'd like to
get the swap done in the next two weeks.
