Subject: Clutch chatter vs tranny's mount
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1; format=flowed

Hi, my clutch is ''chattering'' since last year on my 86 van. It only does it when cold so I've desided to change it and replace the crankshaft seal only at the end of the summer. I'm wondering if all that chatter could have bad effect on my tranny support. I've pull on the tranny with a steel bar and it seems to have a lot of play on the rubber mount. Is the tranny rubber absorber supposed to have '' side play'' in the steel mount?? How can I tell if my transmission mount is bad??

Thanks.
