Subject: 87 Westy Wiper Mechanism Question
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

I just spnt the last couple of days cleaning my new Westy and taking inventory of fixes. Anyway, I found a new OEM wiper mechanism in the glovebox, and sure enough, the driver-side wiper is stripped. (The splines are stripped and the mechanism just turns inside the wiper arm.) Therefore, I need to know how to get to the mechanism so I can replace it with the unit the is in the gloveox. It is the part with the splines that connects behind the sheetmetal to the wiper motor, and outside to the wiper arm. (I'm guessing it connects via a rod to the other wiper, too.) Do I get at it through the front of the Westy, after taking off the grill, or from behind, after taking out the instrument cluster? (or both?) TIA! -Mark
