Subject: Help - Low Speed Radiator Fan Dead... High Speed Works..!?!?!
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hi again,

I have been playing around in the coolant zone now for a few days... I have all the major coolant lines replaced, and just started her up tonight.

I had been wondering if I should create a nice manual fan switch, based on all the talk on the list, as well as the fact that I was not certain that my temp switch at the radiator was working....

tonight while bleeding the system, and letting her idle at 2000rpm for a long time, I had the pleasure of hearing the high speed fan go on by herself!!! Yes, it does sound like an airplane engine..... no, I did not get any low speed before hand.... that concerns me.

My question to the list:

Is it possible for the temp switch to be defective and only be broken regarding the low speed, and be functional for the high speed????

I will be taking another look tomorrow, and will be looking into a 2 speed manual cockpit switch, with a timer on it, so I can run my fan after I leave the car, and it will automatically shut off after 10 min... or something.

Anyway... please give me some feedback. My guess is that I should replace the switch on the radiator anyway... and in addition make my parallel timer manual 2-speed cockpit switch.

Thanks!

RSF
