Well, I bought my vanagon out of state, and then had it smogged in California without a glitch. It wasn't originally set up for California smog requirements.... so I guess that means I shouldn't have a problem. Still, Boston Bob doesn't live in California. Is there anything he may not be aware of?

Bob, my stock automatic runs at 4000 rpms to hit 70 mph. When your big valves are running 70 mph down the highway, what are their rpms?

And Bob, does the engine run less loudly with Option I and/or II

Thanks for your reply.
