Happy Campers,

So, my wife and i did our first overnight trip in the Mystery Machine last night. This marks our first overnight in something other than a tent.

We headed out of Minneapolis about noon on Saturday North on 35W (everybody from around here is gasping in disbelief at my route choice). I quickly realized the error of my ways and re-routed over to 35E, then to 8 and on to the nifty little town of Taylors Falls on the St. Croix.

From there we took the river route up to Wild River State Park. Once there we found a pull-through site that served us well.

Saw a bald eagle hunting along the St. Croix and several deer browsing near the campground. Only rough spot was we nearly froze to death (it is *May* isn't it??) and woke to a thick layer of frost on the skylight. I'm thinking of adding some kind of catalytic heater and plumbing it into the camper's propane system. Marshall-of-Manitoba, i feel your pain.

Anyway, the coffee and frybread breakfast certainly tasted good this morning.

Regards,

-jspeer
