Subject: diesel gas conversion - fifth day
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Didn't really work on the van today, but I've been thinking...

What have others done about installing the fuel pump/filter/accumulator assembly from the I4 motors into the vanagon? My plan was to bolt it on right by the tank just in from the sliding door, run power to it from the engine compartment where I'll stick the pump relay, and use the existing gas flow and return lines. However, on the Golf the fuel return line went into the fuel pump/filter/etc assembly whereas on the diesel it went back directly into the tank. Is there any problems with leaving the return going into the tank and just stopping up the return intake on the pump/filter/etc assembly?

I've decided to place the fuel distributor in the right rear corner where the battery currently is located (as most do.) I'm totally kicking on having to shell out $150 for custom made fuel injector lines, but I guess I don't have any other options. It's going to almost double the price of this conversion! Ah well...

thanks,

Matt
