No problems at all - that is part of the rework I am doing to my '78 Westy.

However - - - fuse this new wire near the battery.

Many FLAPS offer a new fuse panel for either glass tube fuses or spade fuses for about $9.

Then you can locate it near the battery and have the ability to add 6 new fused circuits.
