There's always Hella's expensive Raintronic system, as sold stock in some BMWs etc.

There's a sensor which you stick to your windshield, and the relay replaces your factory one. You have to set it up... train it, so to speak, but it's fully automatic. Turns the wipers on/off by itself, automatically adjusts sweep speed and interval.

Even with variable intermittent (jeez, my bare-bones 89 Corolla diesel wagon doesn't even HAVE intermittent... or rear wiper... or CARPET, for chrissakes!), it's a real pain continually changing thew intermittent setting, and this can cause lack of attention to the road... so a Raintronic is a major plus.

Got one on a special from PG Performance, a Canadian vendor <www.pgperformance.com>. Cost me a LOT less than $500US!! Like $272CD. -- Andrew Grebneff 165 Evans St, Dunedin 9001, New Zealand <andrew.grebneff@stonebow.otago.ac.nz> Seashell, Macintosh, VW/Toyota van nut
