I just installed a rebuilt distributor and after one day the Hall Sender quit. I got no fuel injector pulse during start, nor any tach indications. Tracked the problem back through the ignition system using all the checks in Bentley. Everything checked ok except the Hall Sender. Checked it with an ohmmeter and it reads wide open. An old one I had reads 5-15 meg depending on which terminals you test. Anyone have experience with a sender failing this way? It's probably just a bad unit from the rebuilder, but I am wondering if something else could have caused it to fail. John |
