Well, the bearings were going on the alternator on my father's '87 Westy. I suggested that he simply get it rebuilt with new bearings and brushes, so naturally he went out and bought a $118.00 Bosch rebuilt unit. He installed it and the alternator and oxs lights would not go off . He took it back and the flaps passed it off as a bad unit and said they would have another one for him later in the day. In the mean time he put the old one back on and the lights stayed off (just the existing bearing problem). When the second rebuilt unit was put in the alternator and oxs were back on.???
