Yo Volks,

I've been offlist awhile for several reasons. I now reside in Castle Valley, UT. which is 17 miles up the Colorado river from Moab, the closest town to Canyonlands (Island in the Sky), Dead Horse Point, and Arches. This is some of the most strikingly beautiful country to be found. . . . anywhere. The possible down side to a late June visit might be the temperature. It gets hot in the summer.

I missed the original post, but would be happy to correspond with anyone interested via p-mail.

Re: Travel from Oregon to Austin

I'll second that!!! It's a state park with a stunning view of Canyonlands and very nice campsites to boot. There used to be a little grey fox that hung out there and liked to visit (startle) the campers.
