Terry:
On this one, you're just flat-out wrong. Sorry, but you are.
Metric is far easier to work with than English measure.
I've got a degree in electrical engineering - and to do any sort of
technical work in English measure is crazy with complications. You spend
more energy converting between units, than you do studying the physics.
This introduces so many errors, it's a wonder any bridge in England stands.
In the US, engineering is now taught in metric for that very reason. It's
far, far, far easier to use, and the system really does make sense.
The English system of weight, distance, energy measure - and a host of other
catagories - are all inconsistent and it's just pure lunacy to use them when
there's a much better alternative.

Right----and notice it's only the two countries that really count-----
And the craziest darn thng is----
We reject the ass backward's Metric system---
Why?
For the same reason the Limey's threw out the Witworth and then the
British Standard system of measurement---
Because it ain't simple------
Imagine all the mechanic's in the whole US one day having to convert to
nothing but metric----it happened--and the Snappy and the Mac, as well
as the Cornwell guy's were nothing but happy----
God bless America--and the US system of measurement----
When I'm really going 100 mph---I want to know I'm doing 100 mph-----
ALL-- world speed record's are set at MPH by the FIM---not in metric
measurement's---
How come?
Because--that's why---
The world has been competing for the fastest guys on earth--and it's
measured in MPH--not KPH-- ( Bonneville salt flat's )
Why is that?
The metric system is kind like a sweetheart wearing falsies--- you think
your getting more than you really are-------:>)
