And of course a LONG time when the number 55 on the gauge was colored RED
or otherwise made to stand out.  Typical half-assed American stuff...in
Singapore the speed limit for commercial vehicles is 50 klicks/hour.  They
all have little sealed boxes inside -- when they exceed 60 kph a loud
buzzer/horn starts beeping and a yellow light on top of the vehicle flashes
(I once rode all the way to Changhi airport with this going on).

I saw a lot of blinking yellow lights while I was there...if they stop you
you get a speeding ticket.  But if they stop you and find you've tinkered
with the box, then you're in TROUBLE.
