what the heck is a "westy kombi"? doesnt exist.

a Kombi is a non-GL base model no frills stripped down van..basically a "panel van with windows". there is no such thing as a "westy Kombi" . the term "kombi" is derived from "Kombination" ie, combination - which is the name for the model VW gave its panelvan with windows..the Kombi. Combination because it did double duty, as a cargo/people hauler. the Kombi had no headliner in the rear, just over the cab only..it had no clock, no glovebox, just a tray, it had vinyl seats (or plain cloth, not velour) w/ no armrests, the side panels in the rear were just masonite, etc.. of course Kombi's could be optioned up, but most people wanted them for commercial use..they made good delivery trucks and school buses..

and ps, busdepot sells the 3 window poptop canvas new..
