Mine's exactly the same... I traced it through on the wiring diagram once to make sure it was intentional and not some wacky wires touching each other in a dirty way. The wiring diagram agreed with it... And My buddy's vanagon does the same, and in fact, my girlfriend's cabriolet does the same thing... So you get into the habit of turning the hazards on when you pull into the gas station so that it doesn't eject it's tape when you kill the engine... However re-starting still ejects it. :)
