I sent a procedure to get the distributor drive out with a pencil while stationed in Italy with limited resources - we certainly didn't have e-mail back then. Only the VW mags were common and I had the same opinion then as I do know - they are of dubious quality and value.

Imagine my surprise several months (year?) later when I was in Key West browsing the book store and I found a new Muir edition with my name in it... The other bookstore folks thought I must be crazy... I bought it on the spot...

I'm published in the grab bag section.

Wonderful book, not perfect, taught me ALOT!

I tell every new VW owner to buy the Bentley for the pictures and Muir's book for the procedures b/c he breaks it down to layman's terms. Of course consult Bentley to be sure Muir's method hasn't be superceded.
