Before you sink any bux into this, check and make sure that the lower cable is being driven by the (supposed to be) square hole in the grease cap on your left front wheel. Mine was rounded out. I tested the rest of the speedo unit by wedging a small nail between the cable end and the cap. Speedo worked. Replaced grease cap with a new-to-me cap from a junkyard.
