Before getting a CD-RW I used to play MP3s in the car.

I had an ingenious solution. I have (for work) a Compaq iPAQ Pocket PC. The Windows Media Player on that does a great job with MP3s, and the output jack (mini-headphone type) connects directly to the "CD IN" port on the front of my car's Realistic (yep, Radio Shack) 80 watt equalizer.

So you could pay a bunch for an in-dash MP3 player, or get an iPAQ, and get a LOT more capability (Word, Excel, Outlook, Pocket Streets (maps), GPS capability, etc.) for about $500.

Just a thought...
