I had to adjust my AFM spring tension to a richer open loop mixture to get my surging to stop. My spring is backed off about 15 notches. When I run in closed loop my digitool shows the ecu is still correcting the mixture to spec.

If you adjust the afm spring you may want to test drive it in a parking lot or something. When I was experimenting and tightened the afm spring, the van had no power just off of idle, which is not a good thing when you are in a busy intersection!
