I have to chime in: when I had my nice '84 GTI and used - for the first time in my life - the cruise control it was such a strange feeling that the car would drive by itsself. I had to force myself to concentrate on the road and not doing sightseeing! In a westy I might have gone to the back too and prepared myself a cup of coffee :-).
