Yes you can flat tow an automatic-----


As long as the engine is running in the towed vehicle---to keep the pump
spinning in the towed trans---


But you risk the chance of the unit in question dropping in gear and
really  cooking the gear box----


Rent A flat bed trailer----better to be safe than sorry---

has anyone towed a automatic vanagon in neutral w/ rear drive wheels on
the ground, rolling, for about 100 or so miles?   is it ok to do?
    please advise..
