From what I can tell from the ETKA, you found the year differences between your 85 and 86, which don't seem to be dependent on being a Westy or Weekender. It seems that all vans prior to '85 had the larger 21mm front bar on them, while later vans (depending on build date) had the 19mm that is on the front of your 86. I just posted some info regarding swapping the different front bars within the last couple days, so it is possible. The title was "Lots of sta-bar info - long." Assuming your vans are US models that aren't ambulances, you won't find any bars on either one in the rear, so no upgrade is possible there.

Note also that just putting on a larger front bar on your 86 will cause it to understeer more, even though it will lean less. You might get some benefits in crosswinds, though.
