Besides the main harness that plugs into the back of the alternator, there is a single wire that controls the alt light. If this wire is left disconnected, or possibly connected to the wrong place, the alt light will stay on. Due to the design of the instrument cluster, when the alt light stays on, so does the oxy light. Look for a problem with this wire.
