Subject: Re: how much oil in 82 diesel

Matthew, be careful comparing a 82 diesel to a Syncro. The engines are at much different angles front to back. If you use a 2wd diesel oil pan and oil pump pickup in a Syncro the pan will not be level. How this affects the ideal oil level I don't know. In a Syncro the pan will be much higher in the back. If you use a oil pan mounted diesel Vanagon oil dipstick assembly the marks will be way off. Hopefully the TIICO kit uses the later style through the block. I wonder if the dipstick oil level marks have been checked for suitability in the Syncro application?

Mark
