1. Weld a nut or bolt head on one end of a small-diameter steel tube (that just fits over the broken stud).

2. At the opposite end of the tube, remove a section of the tube. Cut out a portion of the tube so that the remaining tube is "C"-shaped. Cut out a section only as long as the remaining stud segment is long (this guy cut 4mm long; depends on how much is left of the stud...).

3. Along this opening you've just made, weld the tube to the remainder of the stud.

4. When the weld cools, use a wrench on the bolt (or nut) end of the tube and unscrew the stud.
