Hi Dave,

You can run wires from the light above the cabinets ---- through the shelf channel, around/above the closet and to the rear shelf. from there you could drill through to whereever you're putting the light. I don't have my Westy in front of me so this description may not be perfect --- hopethis helps. I did this to mount my flex-arm Osram reading lights --- it was quick and easy.
