actually ive seen this tho... if you remember on the '68-'73 westys - the
poptop was backwards and there was no upper bunk (besides that damn cot
thing, which is totally uninhabitable) and the '68-'73 westys used the same
hole in the roof as the sunroof buses... the luggage rack was at the rear,
and much larger..and it actually was a fiberglass piece, open at the bottom,
exposing the metal roof..and there were metal tubes/bars formed into the
fiberglass to protect the metal roof..  ive seen this done w/ the front
vanagon luggage rack, with the bottom fiberglass cut out, and holes drilled
into the fiberglass, and bars inserted into them, so you can still have use
of the luggage rack, while having a aftermarket plexiglass/tempered glass
sunroof cut into the body sheetmetal over the cab area..
and, umm..no, it wasnt motorized :<)
