Yo--Pinkatorus---
Why would anyone have to tell me anything?
This all very simple sweetie---
Just look forward as your driving the Rue Paul Syncromaringa--and notice
at the bottom of the speedo it just might read---KPH-----
I think that a dead giveaway, might have been when the 100 kph was just
about at the top of the gauge-----
Comon----
Love and kisses,
Terry

What a busy, busy day I had yesterday and I learned something very
important. Everyone, check your speedometers!!!! They may be showing the
speed in
kilometers per hour and that is ***much*** different from miles per
hour!
My dear friend, Thor, and I tried to take the Vanagon to be detail
cleaned and polished yesterday. After driving on the four lane highway
for a few miles, Thor, who was following me, started to flash the
headlights like an insane man. Not knowing what was wrong and more than
a ***little*** panicked, it was all I could do to pull over without
wrecking. I jumped out expecting something to be drastically wrong only
to be told by Thor, in a rather snippy tone, that I was driving too
slowly. Although I kept going faster and faster, this same scene was
acted out by us twice more in ten miles. By the third time we stopped,
Thor was having a ***hissyfit****!!! As I thought I had been driving at
an absolutely terrifying 85 miles per hour, we decided that my
speedometer must be broken.
Instead of the car detail shop, we dropped the Vanagon at the Volkswagen
dealership. My spirits were lifted when we returned to pick up the
Vanagon because there is nothing wrong with the speedometer mechanism.
:) It is only that the speedometer shows the speed as kilometers per
hour which is slower than miles per hour. Look on the face of your
speedometer; if it says "km/h", drive faster. I know this is hard to
believe, but it will show 100 (!!!!) when you are going sixty miles per
hour. Paco, the mechanic, explained it all to me. Also, he was very
excited about my van and he would like to buy it whenever I sell it. You
meet the ***nicest*** people when you are driving a Vanagon!
