I know it's not directly vanagon related, but maybe somebody here will have some feedback or ideas. While on the way to the airport last week, my wife's 91' Mazda MPV van died. It would crank, but no spark. Had to have it towed back to the house. After checking it out this weekend, I found that the timing belt was broken. Man, was I happy to see that, yeah right. Well, it's a V6 double overhead cam and I imagine the valves (and maybe more) are toast, since I lined everything up TDC and put a new belt on and it wouldn't run. Fortunately (?), since my 86' Syncro didn't sell on ebay a few weeks ago, my wife is now driving it. She doesn't like VWs, but at least she is practical. Anyway, I was wondering if anybody thought I might could get $1000.00 or so out of the MPV. I'm tired of having to work on cars under pressure and am not looking forward to pulling the heads off and doing all that work. My 84' Westy requires enough upkeep maintenance without having the Mazda hanging over my head. Plus neither one of my VWs have the AC hooked up on them, which isn't good for summertime in Georgia. I've almost decided to buy something new, but just dread the thought of making car payments. Boo hoo.
