Four wires should be connected to the relay -
Terminal #86 should have a blue wire
Terminal #85 should have a red/black wire
Terminal #30 should have a red wire that connects to the (+) terminal on
the secondary battery
Terminal #87 should have a red/white wire that connects to the (+) terminal
on the primary battery
There shouldn't be anything connected to the middle terminal.
Follow the red/white cable from the relay, it should end up in a black
sheath then go through the floor panel and over to the primary battery. In
my van, there is a black wire that goes in the same sheath with the
red/white wire, it ends up at the cigarette lighter on the passenger seat
pedestal. The other end of the black wire plugs into a yellow connector
with a red wire which in turn, connects to the (+) terminal of the
secondary battery.
The Bentley might not have helped you in this instance, the wiring for the
non-GL camper aux battery isn't shown, only for the GL camper, which is
very similar.
Good luck,

Subject: Aux Battery relay question
Hi Folks,
I own a 1986 wolf Westy (no appliances), that has a second (aux) battery
under the drivers side seat.
When I looked closely at the relay (1 inch square silver box), I saw there
are 5 "male" prongs. 4 parameter and one center.
The 4 parameter all have wires attached:
1. blue wire
2. red/white wire
3. red/black wire
4. red wire
The center pole dies not have a wire attached to it.
However, there is a red wire, with a white plastic connector, loose right
next to it. I'd love to know, if that red wire should be connected to the
center pole, and what it controls or affects.
Coincidently, my 12v aux outlet below the passenger side seat does not
work,
and I wondered if this wire could be for it.
I don't own a Bentley manual, and thought I would ask if anyone knows that
the center pole on the relay is for, and if I should try hooking up the
lose
red wire or not. It certainly looks like it it fits, and is perhaps
supposed
too too.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
dave :)
