>I know a man who sold radar detectors. The fact is (he said) that none of >them worked. Snake oil would work better. Not true. The cheapies are junk but some eg Bel make really good ones , according to magazine tests. However even the best do not give a big margin of safety, so slow down as soon as it goes off! I have had detectors, and one certainly saved me a ticket. Generally when I have a detector on a trip I don't see a cop out of town! My current unit incorporates a laser detector (of doubtful use) and passive jammer (extremely useful if it works). -- Andrew Grebneff 165 Evans St, Dunedin 9001, New Zealand <andrew.grebneff@stonebow.otago.ac.nz> Seashell, Macintosh, VW/Toyota van nut |
